Description
Simon Pack, erstwhile Marine and governor of Montana, is unhappy with what he perceives are serious criminal activities taking place in the lightly populated Upper Yaak region of his state. He believes he has failed the the Yaak's permanent residents, and resolves to stamp out the corruption and eradicate the deaths merchants. The area teems with meth labs, drug runners, flesh traders, special interest groups competing for hegemony, and a crooked sheriff and game warden. A key subject subplot revolves around the fate of an incompetent preacher. Crooked cops array against him, the president delights in having the FBI arrest him, and anti-government zealots take him hostage. Pack embarks on a mission to stop a man and woman bent on inflicting terror on the four corners of America On the way Pack is in the middle of a colossal legal confrontation and he discovers the largest mass murder since 9/11
